Storyteller - needed for one Wednesday afternoon every month. Are you a confident storyteller, drama student etc who can talk to and engage with young children, aged 3 to 6 years? Preferably you will be CRB checked.

We have traded in Whitchurch since 2005, but 2012 has been the toughest to survive. 

Bookshops face enormous pressure from competitors like Amazon and the supermarket giants, all of whom offer books as a means of encouraging additional, higher value sales.  None of them loves selling books like all independent booksellers do.  To this end, we try to offer added-value to our customers, to stay in business so that we can continue to do what we love doing - bookselling.

We offer a Loyalty Club to our customers, whereby a point is awarded for every £10 spent in a single transaction.  All products are included in this scheme, so you don't have to be a complete bookworm to benefit!

 When you have 10 points, a £10 voucher is yours to spend on anything in the shop. There is no card to remember to bring with you either - we track you via your name and phone number. Simples!

As added-value we offer free to enter competitions for children, all of which have £5 book vouchers as prizes; we offer free to attend author events throughout the year.  In 2013 we hope to start a children's storytelling club on one Wednesday afternoon every month.  This too will be free to attend, although as it will be seated, spaces will be limited.
